Okura Schanze - Okura Schanze

...One of the old mesas belonging to the Shiribeshi volcanic group, with an altitude of 307m. In 1931, a ski jump (former Okura Schanze) was built on this hill with financial support from Kihachiro Okura, and after several renovations, it was raised to a 90m class in 1962. In 1970, a full-scale international ski jump (commonly known as Okura Schanze) was completed, and it became the main venue for the Sapporo Winter Olympics in 1972.
