…Okura also devoted himself to business activities, such as working with Eiichi Shibusawa to establish the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce (now the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and was involved in and invested in many companies, including Tokyo Electric Light, Imperial Hotel, Dai Nippon Beer, Nippon Leather, and Nisshin Oil Mills.
