...In 1832 (Tenpo 3), there were 55 oil wholesalers in Osaka, 3 in Sakai, and 5 in Hyogo. The oil wholesalers in Osaka were the Kyoguchi oil wholesaler, established in 1616 (Genwa 2), the Edoguchi oil wholesaler, which started the following year, and the Deyuya, which began during the Enpo era (1673-81) and was fully established as a wholesaler by the Shotoku era (1711-16). The Kyoguchi oil wholesaler was the supplier to Kyoto and Fushimi, replacing Yamazaki (Oyamazaki oil shop) from the beginning of the early modern period....

…1832年(天保3)には，両種物問屋は大坂55軒，堺3軒，兵庫5軒が存在した。大坂の油問屋には1616年(元和2)にできた京口油問屋，その翌年に始められた江戸口油問屋，延宝年間(1673‐81)に始まり，正徳年間(1711‐16)に問屋としての体裁の整った出油屋とがある。京口油問屋は京都および伏見への供給地として近世初頭から山崎(大山崎油座)に代わって当たったのはこの問屋であった。…
