A publishing company founded by Yamamoto Sanehiko in January 1919. The general monthly magazine Kaizo, which was launched in April of the same year, formed a progressive forum alongside Chuokoron before World War II, but ceased publication in June 1944 due to the suppression of freedom of speech at the end of the Pacific War. It was republished once again in 1946 after the war, but after a dispute that began at the end of 1954, which led to the formation of the Kaizo Non-Writing League, it ceased publication with its February 1955 issue, and Kaizosha was dissolved. Kaizosha is also famous for starting the battle for 100-yen books with its Collection of Contemporary Japanese Literature in December 1951.
