Kamikawachi [town] - Kamikawachi

Japanese: 上河内[町] - かみかわち

A former town in Kawachi County in central Tochigi Prefecture. Established as a town in 1994. Bordering the northeastern part of Utsunomiya City, it is located on the west bank of the middle reaches of the Kinugawa River. Rice and wheat are the main agricultural products, and yuzu and vegetables are also grown in vinyl greenhouses, which are shipped to Utsunomiya City and other areas. In recent years, factories have been established here, and the number of commuters to Utsunomiya City has increased. At the autumn festival in November at Hagurosan Shrine on Mount Haguro in the north, a majestic Bonten dedication is held, attracting many tourists. In March 2007, it was incorporated into Kawachi Town in Kawachi County and Utsunomiya City. 56.90 ^km2 . 9,545 people (2005).

栃木県中央部，河内郡の旧町。1994年町制。宇都宮市の北東部に接し，鬼怒川中流部西岸に位置する。米麦中心の農業を主とし，ユズやビニルハウスによる野菜の栽培も行われ，宇都宮市などへ出荷されている。近年は工場も進出し，宇都宮市への通勤者も増加している。北部の羽黒山上にある羽黒山神社の11月の秋祭には，勇壮な梵天奉納が行われ，観光客でにぎわう。2007年３月，河内郡河内町と宇都宮市へ編入。56.90km²。9545人（2005）。
