Kiyomi [village] - Kiyomi

Japanese: 清見[村] - きよみ

A village in Ono County, northern Gifu Prefecture. Population 2,568 (1995). Located in the Hida Highlands at an altitude of over 600m, it is surrounded by mountains. Small and medium-sized rivers such as the Kawakami River, a tributary of the Miyagawa River, and the Makitani River flow through the mountains, and settlements and cultivated land are scattered along the rivers. The main settlement is Mikkamachi, located in the northeast near the confluence of the Kawakami River and the Makitani River, and it is close to Takayama City and has good transportation access. The main industries are agriculture and forestry, but in recent years, beef cattle raising and highland vegetable cultivation have grown. The population, which was over 5,000 in 1945, has halved, and depopulation is severe.

岐阜県北部，大野郡の村。人口2568(1995)。標高600m以上の飛驒高地にあって山地に囲まれる。宮川の支流川上川，牧谷川などの中小河川が山間を流れ，河川に沿って集落と耕地が点在する。北東部の川上川と牧谷川の合流点付近の三日町が中心集落で，高山市に近く交通の便もよい。農林業を主とするが，近年，肉牛の肥育，高冷地野菜栽培などが伸びている。1945年に5000人以上あった人口は半減し，過疎化が著しい。
