...Altitude 2,864m. The name of the mountain is said to come from the fact that the shape of the remaining snow on the Kugi-daira (cirque) on the east side of the summit, as seen from Ina Valley in June, resembles a Deutzias flower. A rock mass of Hanakouwa protrudes near the summit, but the middle slope is covered with a forest of tall trees such as Japanese stone pine and rowan.
