Oshu Three Famous Hot Springs

...The spring quality is either salt water or simple spring water. It is known as one of the three great hot springs in Oshu along with Akiu and Naruko, and Basho also visited this hot spring in 1689 (Genroku 2) during his journey on the Oku-no-Hosomichi. In 1955, the former Iizaka Town was merged with Yuno Town and four other villages on the opposite bank of the Surikami River, and was further incorporated into Fukushima City in 1964.
