…The New York World's Fair, held in 1964 and 1965, was a large-scale event with 39 countries participating, although it was not based on an international treaty. Since then, the Montreal World's Fair (1967), the Japan World's Fair held in Osaka (1970), the Spokane Environmental Expo (1974), the Okinawa Ocean Expo (1975), and the Knoxville International Energy Expo (1982) have been held based on this treaty. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) was established in Paris to monitor the application of the treaty. …

…64年と65年の2回に開かれたニューヨーク世界博覧会は国際条約に基づくものではないが，39ヵ国が参加した大規模なものであった。その後この条約に基づくものとしてモントリオール万国博覧会(1967)，大阪で開かれた日本万国博覧会(1970)，スポーケン環境博覧会(1974)，沖縄海洋博覧会(1975)，ノックスビル国際エネルギー博覧会(1982)が開かれている。なお条約の適用を監視するため，博覧会国際事務局Bureau International des Expositions(BIE)がパリに設立されている。…
