C ₃₃ H ₃₅ N ₅ O ₅ (581.67). An ergot alkaloid. It has an amide-bonded peptide structure consisting of (+)-lysergic acid, L -phenylalanine, D -proline, pyruvic acid, and ammonia. Columnar crystals. Melting point 212-214 °C (decomposition). -160° (chloroform). p K _a1 9.62±0.60, p K _a2 7.20±0.40. It turns brown and decomposes when exposed to heat, light, or air. Soluble in hot ethanol, chloroform, and ether, but sparingly soluble in benzene and water. It has a strong uterine contractile effect. LD ₅₀ 62 mg/kg (rat, intravenous injection). The isomer bound to (+)-isolysergic acid (ergotaminine) has a melting point of 240-243 °C. +369° (chloroform) and has a weak physiological effect. C₃₃H₃₅N₅O₅(581.67)．麦角アルカロイドの一つ．(＋)-リゼルギン酸，L-フェニルアラニン，D-プロリン，ピルビン酸，アンモニアよりなるペプチドがアミド結合した構造をもつ．柱状晶．融点212～214 ℃(分解)．－160°(クロロホルム)．pK_a1 9.62±0.60，pK_a2 7.20±0.40．熱，光，空気に触れると褐色に変化し分解する．熱エタノール，クロロホルム，エーテルに可溶，ベンゼン，水に難溶．強い子宮収縮作用をもつ．LD₅₀ 62 mg/kg(ネズミ，静注)．(＋)-イソリゼルギン酸と結合した異性体(エルゴタミニン)は，融点240～243 ℃．＋369°(クロロホルム)で，生理作用は弱い．同様な構造のほかの麦角アルカロイドを表に示す．[CAS 113-15-5]
