Li Mi - Rimitu

One of the heroes of the late Sui dynasty. He first became Emperor Yang's left attendant (officer of the Imperial Guard), but resigned and devoted himself to reading and studied under scholars. Later, he was recognized by Yang Su, a high-ranking official of the Sui dynasty, and became a close friend of Yang Su's eldest son, Yang Xuan Gan. He was the leader of Yang Xuan Gan's rebellion, but was defeated and captured, and escaped into exile. He visited many of the heroes of the late Sui dynasty and expressed his aspirations, but was not recognized. In the end, he joined the army of Zhai Rang, and soon took control of the group in place of Zhai Rang. When Li Yuan established the Tang dynasty, it had become the largest rebel group. He attacked Wang Shichong of Luoyang, but failed, and surrendered to the Tang dynasty in 618, but was dissatisfied with his treatment and turned against them, leading to his death.

中国、隋(ずい)末群雄の1人。初め煬帝(ようだい)の左親侍（禁衛隊の官）となったが、辞職して読書にふけり、大学者にも学んだ。のち隋の大官の楊素(ようそ)に認められ、楊素の長子楊玄感(ようげんかん)の親友となった。楊玄感の反乱のときその謀主となり、敗れて捕らえられたが、脱走亡命。隋末の群雄を歴訪して抱負を述べたが認められず、最後に翟譲(てきじょう)の軍に投じ、まもなく翟譲にかわってその集団を握り、李淵(りえん)が唐朝を興したとき、最大の反乱集団となっていた。洛陽(らくよう)の王世充(おうせいじゅう)を攻撃したが失敗し、618年唐朝に降伏したが、その待遇を不満として、背いて殺された。
