A city in southern Gifu Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1982. It is located in the Tono Hills, and the northern part is a lowland in the Kiso River basin. Hiromi in the center is a commercial district at the intersection of the Taita Line and the Meitetsu Hiromi Line. Imado, which once prospered through shipping on the Kiso River, is the base for the Japan Line sightseeing. Since the 1970s, large housing complexes have been developed as a commuter town for Nagoya City, and the population has increased rapidly, leading to the establishment of a city. The automobile parts industry, which flourished after World War II, accounts for approximately 35% (2003) of the city's manufactured goods shipment value, and general machinery and metal product industries are also growing. Seedlings are a specialty of the city. Kaneyama Town, Kani County, was incorporated in May 2005. 87.57 ^km2 . 97,436 people (2010).

岐阜県南部の市。1982年市制。東濃丘陵にあり北部は木曾川流域低地。中心の広見は太多(たいた)線と名鉄広見線の交点で商業区である。かつて木曾川舟運で繁栄した今渡は日本ライン観光の基地。1970年代から名古屋市のベッドタウンとして大住宅団地が造成され，人口が急増して市制施行。第２次世界大戦後盛んになった自動車部品工業が市の製造品出荷額の約35％（2003）を占め，一般機器，金属製品工業も成長している。苗木を特産。2005年５月可児郡兼山町を編入。87.57km²。９万7436人（2010）。
