...The western part (the Wanizuka Mountains in the strict sense) is relatively gentle and continues into the Miyakonojo Basin. The Udo Mountains in the east are not very high in altitude, but are steep, with no flat land along the coast and a coastline with many inlets and outlets. With an annual precipitation of about 3,000 mm and an average annual temperature of 17°C, the natural conditions are ideal for forestry, and the Obi cedar cultivated by the Obi Domain is particularly famous.
