A distilled alcoholic drink unique to Russia. It is colorless, odorless, and transparent, with an alcohol content of 40-60%. It is made by adding malt to rye or barley, saccharifying it, fermenting it, and distilling it. Currently, potatoes and corn are used as the main ingredients. Vodka is characterized by the fact that the distilled alcoholic drink is filtered through a filter layer filled with birch charcoal to remove odors and purify it. It has been produced since the end of the 14th century, and after the Russian Revolution of 1917, it was made in various countries around the world by exiled Russians. Vodka-based cocktails are also popular.

ロシア特産の蒸留酒。無色無臭透明で，アルコール分40〜60％。ライ麦，大麦に麦芽を加え糖化，発酵させ，蒸留したもの。現在はジャガイモやトウモロコシを主原料にしている。ウォッカの特色は蒸留酒をシラカバの木炭をつめた濾過(ろか)層を通して濾過し除臭・精製する点にある。14世紀末から製造され，1917年のロシア革命後，亡命ロシア人によって世界各国で作られた。ウォッカをベースとするカクテルも普及している。
