《Ukou Suishi》

…His pen name was Himei, and he was from Deqing County, Zhejiang Province. He was knowledgeable in geography and the study of divination. In the former, he participated in the compilation of the Daqing Yitongzhi, which was led by Xu Qianxue (1631-94). He also studied the Yu Gong chapter of the Shangshu, the oldest geography book, and wrote the 20-volume Yu Gong Suishi, which clarified the changes in water flow since the Han dynasty. In the latter, he argued in the 10-volume Yitu Mingbian that the He Tu Luo Shu and Tai Chi Tu, which were revered by Confucian scholars, were made by Taoists of later times and could not be trusted, and this became the accepted theory thereafter. …

…字は朏明（ひめい），浙江省徳清県の人。地理学と易学とに詳しく，前者では，徐乾学(1631‐94)を総裁とする《大清一統志》の編纂に参加し，さらに彼自身も最古の地理書である《尚書》禹貢篇を研究し，漢代以来の水流の変遷を明らかにした《禹貢錐指（すいし）》20巻を著した。後者では，《易図明弁》10巻で，朱子学者が尊んだ〈河図洛書〉〈太極図〉は後世の道士の手に成るもので信用できないことを説き，以後これが定説となった。…
