…During the transition from the Wei to the Western Jin dynasty, he supported Emperor Wu and served as Left Guanglu Dafu, Julu Commandery Duke, and Sikong. In his official capacity, he produced 18 maps of the Yu Tribute Region, and in the preface he outlined six rules for mapmaking (division, aiming, road li, high and low, square and square, and straight), and produced the Fangzhang map (one inch and 100 li).
