The act of lending money (including the provision of money by bill discounting, sale security, or similar means), acting as an intermediary in the lending and borrowing of money, or guaranteeing debts by directors, employees, or other personnel of a financial institution using their position to benefit themselves or a third party. Floating loans are prohibited by the Law on the Receipt of Contributions, Deposits, and Interest Rates, and may be punished under the Criminal Code as embezzlement in the course of business (→ embezzlement) or fraud.
