...Other ethnic minorities, such as the Miao, Karen, and Yao, live in the mountainous areas, and each maintains its musical traditions using simple folk instruments. In the last decade or so, an instrumental ensemble called Wong Poon Muang, which uses folk instruments from northern Thailand, has been rediscovered. In addition, more than 100 lullabies that have been passed down from parents to children are still sung today.
