Kaga crest - Kagamon

〘Noun〙 A type of crest used on the haori coats of boys and girls. It is not a fixed crest, but a highly colored overpainted design of flowers and moons. 〘名〙 少年少女の羽織などに用いた一種の紋。定紋ではなく、上絵(うわえ)で花や月の図案に極彩色をほどこしたもの。加賀国（石川県南部）から起こったところからいう。※浮世草子・男色大鑑（1687）五「けし人ぎゃうの加賀紋(カガモン)」
