Kinutamono - Kinutamono
A classification of Japanese music. It includes Noh and its shamisen adaptations, and instrumental music centered on the onomatopoeic expression of the kinuta in jiuta sokyoku. (1) Noh. Old name: Kinuta Onna. Fourth piece. Written by Zeami. (2) Handayu-bushi. Composed by Edo Handayu. A joruri version of a Noh song. (3) Kato-bushi. Composed by Tossunmi Kato 1st. A revised version of Handayu-bushi. However, Kato 4th's Tokiwa no Koe, composed in 1746, is closer to a Noh song. (4) Jiuta. (a) "Kinuta" from "Himekomatsu." (b) "Kinuta" composed by Sayama Kengyo. Honchoshi. (c) "Sandan Kinuta" composed by Shimazumi Koto of Sakai. Niagari. Includes an introduction. (d) "Yondan Kinuta" by unknown composer. Also called "Kyo Kinuta." Honchoshi, Sanshidari ensemble piece. Introduction includes "Sandanjishi." (5) Koto pieces: (a) "Kinuta" composed by Ikuta Kengyo. Hirachoshi. The score was included in the Yanoichizo woodblock edition in 1822. (b) "Kinuta" from the Yatsuhashi school, an omote-attached piece. (c) "Kinuta" from the Tsugiyama school, an omote-attached piece. (d) "Shinkinuta" from the inner part of the Yatsuhashi school. (e) "Kinuta" from the Yamazawa Koto tradition. Arrangement of (a). Included in "Yamada no Rakuho" in 1825. (f) "Yondankinuta" from the Yamada school. Possibly arranged by Hasegawa Kengyo. (e) Main piece, with an ensemble of alternate pieces in Kumoichoshi. (g) "Nijukinuta" from the Ikuta school. (a) is arranged and played with "Kinutaji." It includes a prelude to "Sandanjishi." (h) "Godankinuta" composed by Mitsuzaki Kengyo. (i) Yamada school koto piece "Oka Yasu (Yasu) Kinuta." The original piece may have been a Nagauta sangenkyoku. There are many different theories about the composer. In the Yamada school, what was passed down as Fujiue school kokyu was transformed into a koto piece by Yamamuro Yasuyoshi and others, and is played with "ji" or a replacement. (j) Yamada school sangenkyoku piece "Shinkinuta." Composer unknown. Passed down in the Nakanoshima school. (k) New Japanese music. Miyagi Michio composed "Karakinuta," "Tokinuta," and "Kinuta."
