In Korea, it is called kumjur (forbidden rope) or wenseki (left rope), and is a custom seen mainly in the central and southern regions of Korea. As a cultural element of rice-growing culture, it has many things in common with Japanese examples. Unlike normal ropes, it is tied on the left side, and paper, silk, branches, leaves, etc. are hung from it.
