Four treaties were concluded between England, the Netherlands, and Prussia, two each. (1) The First Treaty of Westminster (April 5, 1654), which ended the First Anglo-Dutch War (52-54). It recognized England's superiority on the seas, and in a secret treaty agreed to recognize the Navigation Acts, pay an indemnity, and expel the House of Orange from Holland. (2) The Treaty between Charles II of England and Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg (1662). (3) The Second Treaty of Westminster (February 19, 1674), which aimed to end the Third Anglo-Dutch War (72-74). The Netherlands agreed to pay an indemnity and return to England the North American colonies it had occupied, such as New York and New Jersey. (4) The Neutrality Pact (January 1756), which was concluded between England and Frederick II (the Great) of Prussia, to counter France.
