Gayasan - Kayasan

A famous mountain that straddles Hampeon County, South Gyeongsang Province, and Seongju County, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is 1,430 meters above sea level. It is covered with trees, has a beautiful mountain body, and is lined with strange peaks and rock formations. It is also home to many spectacular views such as Hwanggye Falls, Hongryudong Valley, and Yongmun Falls, which are woven by clear streams, and has been designated a national park. At the southern foot of the mountain is the famous Haeinsa Temple, which is always crowded with tourists and worshippers. Haeinsa Temple houses the Tripitaka Koreana, which was engraved during the Goryeo Dynasty. Camellias grow in clusters nearby, and traditional Korean paper is made in the Haeinsa Valley.

韓国（大韓民国）、慶尚南道(けいしょうなんどう／キョンサンナムド)陝川(せんせん)郡と慶尚北道(けいしょうほくどう／キョンサンプクド)星州郡にまたがる名山。標高1430メートル。樹木が茂り、山体が秀麗で怪峰奇岩が連なる。また清流が織り成す黄渓(こうけい)の滝、紅流洞渓谷、竜門の滝などの絶景が多く、国立公園に指定されている。南麓(なんろく)には有名な海印寺(かいいんじ)があり、一年中観光客、参拝客が絶えない。海印寺には高麗(こうらい)時代に版刻された八万大蔵経が保管されている。付近にはツバキが群生しており、海印寺渓谷では伝統的な韓紙(かんし)がつくられている。
