Western [Islands] - Uestan

…the islands are located off the northwestern and west coasts of Scotland. In Roman times they were called the Ebudae or Hebudas Islands, and today they are also known as the Western Isles. They consist of about 500 islands stretching from north to south between latitudes 55°35′ and 58°30′ north, with a total area of ​​about 7,500 km2 and a population of about 48,500 (1981).
