Gaddi, Agnolo di Taddeo
Born: 1330/1350. Florence
Died October 16, 1396. Italian painter from Florence. He absorbed elements of Giotto's naturalism and the Sienese school through his father Taddeo and Giovanni da Milano. Although his style was popular, he produced works in Florence, the Vatican, Prato, and other places, and built the prosperity of the Gaddi family. His work is The Legend of the Holy Cross (1380, Santa Croce, Florence).

Died in 1366. A Florentine Italian painter. He is said to have been a pupil of Giotto and collaborated with him for 24 years. He excelled in dramatic group depictions and architectural depictions involving foreshortening. His works include the mural series "The Life of Mary" (1332-38) for the Baroncelli Chapel in the Santa Croce Basilica in Florence, and "Madonna and Child" (1355, Uffizi Gallery).

イタリアの画家。ジョットの弟子として,24年間共同制作にたずさわったといわれる。劇的な群像表現,短縮を伴う建築表現に長じる。作品はフィレンツェのサンタ・クローチェ聖堂バロンチェリ礼拝堂の連作壁画『マリア伝』 (1332~38) ,『聖母子』 (55,ウフィツィ美術館) など。
