Akasaka white cotton

...The central settlement, Machikanda, is the valley hamlet of Sunagawa and the center of the former Akasaka district. The surrounding area was once a cotton-producing region known for Akasaka white cotton, and from Machikanda south to the former Nishiyama Takayo (now Sanyo Town) remains of the jori system were formerly the land of Tottori Manor and Karube Manor. Agriculture is the main industry of the town, and it produces Omachi rice, peaches, and grapes for sake brewing.
