Japanese: 胃洗浄 - いせんじょう

This is a treatment method used when a large amount of poison or sleeping pills are ingested orally, or when a large amount of stomach contents are retained due to various gastrointestinal diseases. Usually, a rubber stomach tube with a diameter of 6 to 8 mm is inserted from the mouth through the esophagus to the stomach, and the stomach contents are removed using lukewarm water or various solutions using the siphon principle. The liquid is changed several times and this is continued until the drainage becomes clear.

毒物，多量の睡眠剤等の経口摂取時，あるいは各種胃腸疾患で胃内容物が大量貯留したときに用いる治療法。普通，直径６〜8mmのゴム製胃ゾンデを口から食道を通して胃に入れ，微温湯または種々の溶液を使用し，サイホンの原理を利用して胃内容を除去する。何回も液を替え排液が透明になるまで行う。
