...Indonesian nationalist party in the 1930s. Its official name was the Indonesian Party. After the Dutch colonial government imprisoned Sukarno and other top leaders of the Indonesian National Party, the party was formed in 1931 by a majority of the party, including Vice Chairman Sartono, who wanted to disband the party and take over the National Party's mantle in a new organization.
