They also gained the status of kuni-no-miyatsuko under the ritsuryo system. The clan worshipped the god Amenohohi-no-mikoto in Fukui, Tottori Prefecture, and in the mid-Heian period, they competed fiercely for power with the newly emerging powerful Ihokube clan, who both were given the rank of Shosanmi and worshipped Ube Shrine, the Ichinomiya of Inaba Province.
