[Born] Genroku 1 (1688) [Died] 1758 Kabuki actor. Stage name: Narita-ya. Son of Ichikawa Danjuro I. In 1704, six months after his father's sudden death, he took on the name of Ichikawa Danjuro II. He premiered plays such as "Sukeroku," "Kamonuki," and "Uirouri," which were later selected as the "18 Best Kabuki Plays." He excelled in looks and eloquence, and showed his distinctive style by combining rough and gentle moves.
