As a powerful man in Totomi Province, Munenobu allied with Minamoto no Yoritomo, and in 1181 (Yowa 1), he was granted possession of Uchishiba Village and Tadokoro Office in the manor. In 1186 (Bun'ei 2), Asaba Saburo is seen hunting on Mt. Futamata with Totomi no Kami Minamoto no Yoshisada and his son, and is presumed to have been related to the provincial government office.
