"Kishimeku" and "kishiru" are also used in the same sense. (2) From the Middle Ages onwards, the words "gisimu" and "gishimeku" were created with a voiced initial consonant. These words not only described the sound made by objects rubbing against each other, but also expanded their meaning to include "to strain," "to fight," or "to compete" in order to oppose an opponent.
