…In the same year, he traveled to England, and the following year, he planned a trip to Italy, broadening his scope of activities from Berlin to the world. He had already visited Weimar (1821) and Paris (1825), but his travels continued until he was 24 years old. During these trips, he met many composers, including Rossini, Donizetti, Berlioz, Chopin, and Liszt, and his experiences in nature on his travels inspired him to write masterpieces such as the orchestral overture "Fingal's Cave" (1832), "Italian Symphony" (1833), and "Scottish Symphony" (1842). In 1833, he became music director of the city of Düsseldorf, and two years later he became conductor of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig. …
