Akiho [town] - Aio

Japanese: 秋穂[町] - あいお

An old town in Yoshiki District, Yamaguchi Prefecture, facing the Suo Nada Sea. It occupies a peninsula between Omi Bay to the east and Akiho Bay to the west, and has a large reclaimed land area along the coast. In addition to rice and wheat, it produces cabbage and onions. Small-scale bottom trawl and gill net fishing is thriving. Nori and kuruma shrimp are also cultivated. Hanako rock is also produced. In October 2005, it was incorporated into Yamaguchi City along with Tokuji Town in Sawa District, Ogori Town in Yoshiki District, and Ajisu Town. ^{24.08 km2} . 8,082 people (2003).

山口県吉敷(よしき)郡，周防(すおう)灘に臨む旧町。東の大海(おおみ)湾，西の秋穂湾にはさまれた半島部を占め，海岸には干拓地が広い。米，麦のほか，キャベツ，タマネギを産する。小型底引網・刺網漁業が盛ん。ノリ・クルマエビの養殖も行う。花コウ岩も産する。2005年10月佐波郡徳地町，吉敷郡小郡町，阿知須町と山口市へ編入。24.08km²。8082人（2003）。
