A general term for metal objects that can be struck, hammered, smacked, swung, or swayed to make a sound. There are also plate-shaped kanes, such as the Chinese and Japanese chimes and cloud-shaped bells, and bronze products from the 10th to 6th centuries BC in the Bologna region of Italy. However, the majority of kanes have a hollow body with a knob and a handle or handle at the top. Many end with an open end, like a temple bell (bonsho = hanging bell). However, some are wrapped like a bell. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
