Easter Egg

Japanese: イースター・エッグ - いーすたーえっぐ
Easter Egg

...Jews also ate eggs during the Passover festival, which symbolizes resurrection and the afterlife, and this custom was passed on to Christians as well. In particular, people would give painted eggs, known as Easter eggs, to each other, and this later became a children's game. In England, they played egg rolling and egg spoon-carrying contests, in Germany they played a game of searching for Easter eggs hidden in fields, and in America they handed out sweets and chocolate eggs to children, and in nicking, they hit eggs together and the one who doesn't break them gets the other person's egg.

From 【Birds】

...This is the origin of Valentine's Day (February 14th), when birds are said to start whispering love. The custom of playing with Easter eggs at Easter also seems to have originated from here. In Native American folklore, there are stories of hummingbirds and condors that brought them the first grains, and they are recognized as playing an important role in creation myths and stories about the origin of agriculture.

From [Easter]

...In some regions, a straw doll called Judas is burned on Easter, and in other regions, this fire is called Judas-yaki. It is also customary to eat eggs (Easter eggs) on the morning of Easter and to give colored boiled eggs to each other, and eggs are considered to be symbols of resurrection. In the United States, on the day after Easter (Easter Monday), children hold an egg-rolling contest in the White House gardens.
