Tadafusa Ishikawa
1582-1651 * A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born in Tensho 10. Second son of Okubo Tadachika. By order of Tokugawa Ieyasu, he was adopted by his maternal grandfather Ishikawa Ienari, and in 1611 became the lord of Ogaki Domain in Mino for three generations. In 1616, he was imprisoned in Sunpu due to the abolition of his father Tadachika's title, but was pardoned because of his Ishikawa family name, and distinguished himself in the Siege of Osaka. He was given increased stipends, and became the lord of Hita Domain in Bungo and Sakura Domain in Shimousa, before becoming the first lord of Zeze Domain in Omi in 1620. 70,000 koku. Died on December 24, 1655. Age 69. Commonly known as Sojuro.

天正(てんしょう)10年生まれ。大久保忠隣(ただちか)の次男。徳川家康の命により,外祖父石川家成(いえなり)の養子となり,慶長14年美濃(みの)大垣藩主石川家3代。19年実父忠隣の改易事件のため駿府(すんぷ)に幽閉されたが,石川姓ゆえにゆるされ,大坂の陣で功をたてる。加増をかさね,豊後(ぶんご)日田(ひた)藩主,下総(しもうさ)佐倉藩主をへて,寛永11年近江(おうみ)膳所(ぜぜ)藩主石川家初代。7万石。慶安3年12月24日死去。69歳。通称は宗十郎。
