Born in the first year of the Genki era. The third son of Ikeda Tsuneoki. Adopted by Hashiba Hideyoshi, he fought in the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute, and participated in the sieges of Kyushu and Odawara. Served as the magistrate of ships during the Bunroku Invasion. In the Battle of Sekigahara, he sided with the Tokugawa, and together with his brother Terumasa, captured Gifu Castle and other castles. Due to his achievements, in 1602 he became the first head of the Ikeda clan to rule the Inaba Tottori domain. He had a fief of 60,000 koku. He died on September 24, 1614, at the age of 45.
