Wall side - Kabekata

...A craftsman who paints earthen walls, plaster walls, etc. Also called kabe-nuri (wall plasterer), kabekata (wall carpenter), kabe-ko (wall worker), or, corruptedly, shakan. The division of wall plasterers was already underway under the Ritsuryo system, when the Tsuchitakumi no Tsukasa (Civil Works Officer) was established, to which the Hatsukasibe (Purification Officer) and Nuriko (Purification Officer) belonged.
