〘Noun〙 Buddhist term. One of the Buddhist implements used in esoteric Buddhism. One of the vajra pestles. One with nine prongs. The source is the Daimandala Sutra. The bronze one called Eka Osho Sosho in the Miedo Hall of Mt. Koya and the gilt bronze nine-pronged vajra in the possession of Daigoji Temple are famous. Also called the nine-pronged or nine-pronged vajra. ※San Tendai Godaisanki (1072-73), 7 "When _two nine-pronged vajra are _used and rain is prayed for within, the wise monk in the dojo _{performs the two} thousand-handed offering method. _"
