Shennong herbal medicine - Shennong herbal medicine (English)

Shennong herbal medicine - Shennong herbal medicine (English)
It was one of the base texts used by the Chinese Tao Hongjing when he compiled the Shennong Bencao Jing, a pharmacopoeia book that listed 365 medicines divided into three categories: upper, middle, and lower. The large white font on a black background in the Zhengrui Bencao is a quote from this book, but it may have been slightly altered by Tao Hongjing. Shennong Bencao means a herbal medicine book written by the legendary emperor Shennong, but it is thought to have been written in the Han dynasty and is a compilation of the knowledge of the time as a guide for drug treatment. It is sometimes confused with the Shennong Bencao Jing.
