The predecessor of the current bankruptcy system. It was established by the Family Property Dispersion Law (Law No. 69 of 1890) and replaced the previous customary law system known as "ransom" or "dispersion." The family property dispersion system was applicable to ordinary people other than merchants, for whom the old Commercial Code stipulated the bankruptcy system. The current Bankruptcy Law is a combination of these two laws. Source: Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopedia About Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopedia Information |
