Kawara [town] - Kawara
A town in Tagawa County in the central eastern part of Fukuoka Prefecture. The main settlement developed as a post town and a commercial center, and during the Edo period, the magistrate's office of the Kokura Domain was located here. There is a cement factory that uses limestone from Mt. Kahuran, and the Hitahikosan Line and Heisei Chikuho Railway pass through the town. 44.50 km2 . Population: 11,685 (2010).
