...The larvae of the family Tsutsugamushi parasitize reptiles, birds, and mammals, and are well known as vectors of scrub typhus. The larvae of other families parasitize arthropods, with the Aphid Takara Mite attaching to aphids, the Semi Takara Mite to cicadas and horseflies, and the Yamato Takara Mite to locusts. The name Takara Mite came from the fact that it looks as if the insects are carrying treasures.
