Aphid - Arimaki

Another name for the aphids of the order Hemiptera of the class Insecta. Ants love the honeydew excreted by aphids and protect them, so they were called aphids, as they were seen as an "ant farm."

昆虫綱半翅(はんし)目アブラムシ類の別名。アブラムシの排出する甘露をアリ類が好み、アブラムシを保護するところから、「アリの牧場」とみてアリマキと称された。
