Megat Iskandar Shah

...Parameshvara gained independence from Thailand with the help of Zheng He's expeditionary force and became a tributary state of the Ming Dynasty, and was enfeoffed as King of Manchuria (Melaka) by Emperor Yongle. Parameshvara's successor, Megat Iskandar Shah (reigned 1414-19), was the first king to convert to Islam, and from his name it is likely that there were many people from India and West Asia around the royal court. However, Islam still seems to have been practiced only among the royal family, the nobility, and foreigners.
