It began when Yukitada, the second son of Ichijo Jiro Tadayori, the son of Takeda Nobuyoshi, obtained Amari Manor in Koma County, Kai Province, settled there, and took the name Amari. Yukitada was captured by Minamoto no Yoritomo and executed in 1185 (Bun'ei 1), but his descendants inherited Amari Manor for generations and inherited the position of Takeda clan elder. The Ichirenji Temple death register shows several people with the surname Amari from the late 15th century onwards.
