Abu Grab - Abu Grab

...During the Fifth Dynasty, several sun temples (temples of the sun god Ra, the supreme deity of Egypt) were also built. The sun temple at Abū Ghurāb, in the northwestern suburbs of the capital Memphis, was reached through a corridor from a gate overlooking the Nile Valley. The temple was centered around a huge obelisk erected in the courtyard and an altar in front of it.
