...Each tributary forms a complex alluvial fan, and the Midai River alluvial fan in particular is about 40 km2 and is known as a typical alluvial fan in Japan, with peach and grape orchards that were introduced around the end of the Meiji era spreading across it. On the left bank from Kobuchizawa to Nirasaki, a plateau formed by the Yatsugatake mudflow (Nirasaki mudflow) forms a cliff 60 to 100 meters high, called the Shichirigaiwa Plateau (Anayama Plateau). The Kamanashi River has been prone to flooding since ancient times, and recently it overflowed during Typhoon No. 7 and the Ise Bay Typhoon in 1959, causing great damage around Nirasaki. ...
