...Keys with a keyway only in the shaft hole include flat keys, which are used with part of the shaft kept flat, and saddle keys (also called saddle keys), which have a recess on the key that fits the shaft. Some drive keys, flat keys, and saddle keys have a head attached to make them easier to remove (headed keys). Other types of keys that are used include half-moon shaped keys and cylindrical round keys.
